Charter Yacht Cruising Areas
In the Caribbean there are three main charter cruising areas, the British Virgin Islands, the Grenadines between St. Vincent and Grenada, and the Leeward Islands from St. Martin and chic St. Barths to Antigua.

New flavours in chartering include the Seychelles Islands of the Indian Ocean, and the exotic Coast of Thailand (with an island named for James Bond after filming 007 there for The Man with the Golden Gun ). New catamarans are opening up the wonders of Tahiti and French Polynesia in the South Pacific.

The Caribbean is a year-round sailing paradise, but some areas are primarily Summer destinations. The cruising areas of the Mediterranean offer 5 months of Summer chartering. The cruising areas inlude Spain's chic Balearic Islands, the trendy French and Italian Rivieras, the chi-chi Costa 'Smeralda on Sardinia, hauntingly beautiful Corsica, the many Italian islands such as Capri and Ishia, and Napoleon's exile home, Elba, and near Sicily, Lipari and Vulcano. Further to the east lies the rugged Dalmatian coast of Croatia with her ancient Venetian ports, the fabled Greek Islands, and the strikingly beautiful Coast of Turkey, crossroads of East and West: .

Other popular summer season charter areas include the New England sea coast from Newport, Rhode Island, Martha's Vinyard and Nantucket, along Cape Cod up to Maine and Nova Scotia. There is also some occasional Summer chartering long the shores of England and Ireland and in the islands and fjords of Scandinavia.

An occasional cruising area in the Southwest Caribbean has only just begin to open up: The San Blas Islands, along Panama's Caribbean shore, are a slice of the natural paradise before the Spanish explorers came to the New World.

We have attempted to provide typical itneraries where available, and we have maps and charts of some of the popular cruising areas in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.
