Accommodations you'll find aboard your charter yacht

Accommodations aboard naturally vary from yacht to yacht, and from sailing yacht to catamaran, to motoryacht. Each vessel, even though it may be a "production" model, A master suite aboard a large sailing yachtis unique.

The cabins and sleeping arrangements aboard some vessels are better suited for families, while on others they obviously cater to couples. Some yachts feature relatively identical guest suites, and others offer a "master" suite or "owner's" cabin. Naturally these types of yachts might be better for guests seeking a honeymoon or anniversary charter, or one in which the master suite is obviously for Mom and Dad taking the kids on a family vacation.

Remember too that when "living aboard", most of your time is actually spent on deck or in the water, basically outdoors. Very little time is really spent in the cabins, and some 1 of 4 equal cabins aboard a charter catguests even sleep on deck, finding the romance and crystal clarity of the night skies to be enchanting, and perhaps something they can't do at home!

Smaller yachts are tailored for charter parties of one or two couples, but when the yachts begin to grow into the 65 ft. range, they often can sleep as many as four couples comfortably.

When searching for your yacht through our YachtFinder pages, be sure and check out the accompanying plan of the various yachts. Often the crew's quarters will be separated from the guest cabins, perhaps forward from the The Saloon aboard a Maxi 98 sailing yachtsaloon while the guests are all aft.

Nothing about the plan of a yacht is written in stone however. Some of our catamarans, with 3 or 4 identical double or queen berth guest suites host the same families season after season, just when you thought that from looking at the yacht she would be best suited for couples!
